Faena Art

British artist Es Devlin’s site-specific, monumental commissioned work Library of Us marks the 10th anniversary of Faena Art’s expansion here. Exhibited on Faena District’s beach from December 2-7, the illuminated, revolving sculptural library installation holds 2,500 books that have influenced her. The survey also features Devlin’s site-specific installation Reading Room, and drawing and painting show “Tracing Time.”

Artist Rashid Johnson co-curates “The Prelude,” a group show featuring works from Berkowitz Contemporary Foundation’s collection. At the center, his Surrender Painting creates a dialogue with works by Alberto Giacometti and Cy Twombly, among others. Nature motifs offer a sneak peek of BCF’s pending Longleaf Art Park in northwest Florida. 151 NE 41st Street, Suite 133, Miami Design District; December 2-early January.
Rubell Museum

Opening December 1, “Thomas Houseago: First Light” marks Rubell Museum’s inaugural, single-artist survey. Works include the Los Angeles-based, British artist’s plaster figures commissioned by the Rubell family in 2006, as well as new large-scale, collaged paintings. Several other solo shows premiere, such as 2025 artist-in-residence Joanna van Son’s new paintings inspired by the human body.
El Espacio 23

Claudia Segura Campins, head of collection for Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona, curates “A World Far Away, Nearby, and Invisible from the Jorge M. Pérez Collection” at El Espacio 23. The group show explores the multifaceted concept of territory through four chapters: the Pulse, Landscapes in the Making, Whispers from the Land and Shelter Among the Scars.

For the 10th anniversary of Miami Design District’s annual Design Commission, American artist and designer Katie Stout transforms the neighborhood into a menagerie with large-scale installation Gargantua’s Thumb. Her hand-sculpted clay miniatures of animals including a dog, whale and frog are digitally scanned and replicated in durable materials for outdoor seating.

“Tara Long: La Esquinita” (Little Corner), the Miami-based artist and musician’s first major solo show, reimagines Locust Projects as “Sweets & Souvenirs" bodega with authentic signage and a cashier counter to purchase more than 500 tempting mini sculptures. The main gallery houses a towering, cake-shaped stage, where she performs on December 6.
Tribeca Festival

The Tribeca Festival’s fourth edition for Art Basel Miami Beach returns to the Miami Beach Bandshell with concerts and film screenings focusing on emerging Latin American artists. Bogotá-based, Latin Grammy-nominated ensemble Monsieur Periné and otherworldly instrumental duo Hermanos Gutiérrez headline on December 5 and December 6, respectively. Attendees can experience the Google Gemini Photobooth.
